The Darwin Lighting Company Limited was launched in October 2013. The name of the company originated from the view seen from our property in a rural Kent village which overlooks the fields of Downe, where Charles Darwin picked flowers for his research and resided for some forty years at Down House in the neighbouring village. The valley is now protected by the World Wild Life Fund and deer can be seen roaming daily through the valley.
As a couple, Lawrence and Jan have the passion, energy, and flair for design and are able to produce exciting creations for you. Lawrence worked for a prestigious lighting company in the Kings Road for some eight years, manufacturing high-end lighting for exclusive clients. He has developed a passion for designing and manufacturing classical, traditional and modern lighting for the interior and exterior of homes and businesses across the world. Jan joined the company two years ago and supports Lawrence with all aspects of the business as it grows.
The Darwin Lighting Company can work with your own designs to produce an exclusive item of your choice or they can use their skills to produce a bespoke fixture for you. Time frames are adhered to without compromising on quality or service. The customer is updated every step of the design and production process to ensure we can bring to you a timeless bespoke item that will always be a focal point of any room.
